Abstract

Abstrak: Peran informal caregiver yang seringkali diterima dalam kondisi yang mendesak karena keluarga yang harus melanjutkan perawatan dirumah paska stroke, akan berdampak pada keberlanjutan kualitas perawatan dan kesiapan informal caregiver. Perlu dilakukan pendampingan bagi informal caregiver untuk dapat melaksanakan perannya dengan optimal. Pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan mengoptimalkan peran informal caregiver dalam perawatan pasien paska stroke. Participatory Action Research (PAR) dilaksanakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini yang melibatkan 20 informal caregiver sebagai partisipan. Pre dan post test digunakan untuk mengukur aspek pengetahuan, wawancara sebagai evaluasi aspek afektif dan redemonstrasi diaplikasikan untuk mengevaluasi aspek psikomotor informal caregiver. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini terjadi peningkatan aspek pengetahuan, afektif dan psikomotor pada informal caregiver berdasarkan proses evaluasi. Kegiatan ini perlu dilakukan pendampingan secara periodik kepada informal caregiver dalam perawatan pasien paska stroke dan kerjasama lintas sektor dalam pelaksanaan pendampingan.

Abstract: The role of informal caregivers is often accepted in urgent circumstances because families must continue care at home after a stroke, which impacts the sustainability of care quality and the readiness of informal caregivers. Support is needed for informal caregivers to be able to carry out their roles optimally. This community service aims to optimize the role of informal caregivers in caring for post-stroke patients. Participatory Action Research (PAR) was carried out in this community service activity, involving 20 informal caregivers as participants. Pre- and post-tests were used to measure knowledge, interviews were used to evaluate affective aspects, and redemonstration was applied to evaluate the psychomotor aspects of informal caregivers. The results of this community service activity showed an increase in the knowledge, affective, and psychomotor aspects of informal caregivers based on the evaluation process. This program is necessary to improve the knowledge, affective, and psychomotor aspects of informal caregivers in caring for post-stroke patients, as well as cross-sector cooperation in implementing this assistance.
